I know I haven't posted in this blog in years but...
Well, as most of you who are in my life know, I am not longer married to a Grippo, but I am still the proud mama of two grippos.
So what does that mean to me?
It means that I can still post here stuff having to do with the kids.
We no longer travel as a family.
We are amicably co-parenting.
We have 50-50 custody.
We have the kids one week on, one week off.
And we are adjusting to all of these new facts.
The kids are no longer being homeschooled/unschooling.
They started going to a charter school, two days a week, at Julian charter in November of 2013.
Teresa maintained all A's and had to learn to not stress out so much about every assignment.
Leo did not maintain all A's and had to learn to maybe work a bit harder than he thought on every assignment.
Leo quit club-swimming a while ago, because he was burned out on swimming.
Teresa continued on with College Area Swim Team.
They chose not to do water polo, and instead joining Academic League.
Their Novice Team did excellent and won every one of their competitions.
High School Swim Season came along, and both decided to join the team.
Teresa took a 3 month break from CAST work outs, and enjoyed the season, culminating as a freshmen by participating in City Conference meet. She'll go to finals with her relay team, the only freshmen woman to do so. She continues to do well as a butterflier, and her backstroke continues to get better and faster. Teresa will go back to regular CAST workouts when she can.
Leo did well in the swim season, but was either the best (by far) Junior Varsity swimmer, occasionally participating on the Varsity squad, as a sophomore. He managed to drop time towards the end of the season and can see that by actually going to practice, he could have either been swimming for varsity all along, or will be next year. He'll have to make up his mind if he should go back to CAST for practice or not.
For going to a 5 day a week high school, both kids are doing well. Teresa continues to pull all A's. Leo was struggling with his math class, if you can call getting a B in the fall semester struggling, and is now pulling an A in that class. He hopes to end the year with all A's.
So, in conclusion, keep reading this blog if you want current news to do with the Grippos that are now in high school, Point Loma, Go Pointers, and all their shenanigans.
Me? I'm just writing and blogging....
